Preservation Process

he Freeze Dry Process ( Lyophilization ) is the best known technology to preserve your flowers vibrant color and natural beauty. The freeze dry process has been rated as Best by Goodhousekeeping/Dateline for flower preservation.

Upon arrival your bouquet is photographed for our reconstruction records. Then it is gently dismantled bloom by bloom to be rehydrated and damaged petals removed. In some cases it may be necessary to replace severely damaged flowers. Some delicate blooms such as stephanotis often need replacement. We reserve the right to replace as needed up to $25 in value. We will call you if we feel we need to go above that cost in order to assure you have wonderful results.

Once pampered your flowers are gently laid out on the trays to be inserted in the freeze dry machine. During a 12-14 day cycle your flowers will be frozen to a low of -24°, the ice crystals sublimate from frozen crystals to water vapor by way of vacuum pump slowly extracting the moisture from your flowers. During the 12-14 day cycle the temperature is raised to 70° assuring a completely dehydrated bloom retaining it's texture and color.

Once removed from the freeze dryer flowers are reinforced by stem wiring and airbrush tinted where appropriate and a post treatment for longevity. A designer, working with the original photograph, will reassemble your bouquet to your chosen design. After reassembly is perfect your design will be framed archivally with acid free mat board and a UV protective cover then sealed in the frame you have chosen.
